Here are some of the methods available to help improve your smile.
Teeth whitening
Teeth whitening, or bleaching, can improve your smile drastically.
A whitening agent is applied to your teeth daily until the desired results are achieved. We can take a digital impression of your teeth to create a customized tray that fits your teeth perfectly. This will ensure the whitening agent is where it needs to be to get you the best results.
Keep in mind that teeth bleaching is not permanent and may need to be redone every so often depending on how fast new stains take hold. However, if care is taken to avoid foods and drinks that stain then the amount of periodic whitening can be drastically minimized.
It should be noted that smoking can stain your teeth very quickly. Stains can build up fast behind your teeth where most of the smoke passes through on exhaling. Since teeth are partially translucent the altered colour will be visible through your teeth up.
Partial crowns: inlays and onlays
Going a step further we have a great looking solution called partial crowns—also known as inlays and onlays. These are available to repair damage or decay while at the same time retaining as much of your existing enamel as possible.
A partial crown is used when there is too much damage for a filling but not enough for a full crown. Inlays and onlays repair damaged teeth, are unnoticeable to most people, and can really restore your natural smile.
Veneers
A veneer is a porcelain covering that is bonded to an existing tooth.
They are designed to bring back the whiteness to your smile while adding strength too. They also are used to repair chipped or broken teeth.
Veneers are minimally invasive and can also be used to fix small gaps between teeth. For larger gaps we would recommend Invisalign
Dental crowns
Dental crowns are a great solution for many people. This is because they can both repair a badly damaged tooth and provide a more visually appealing smile.
These are used in cases where damage or decay has progressed beyond the ability to use fillings or partial crowns.
Connective tissue grafts
AlloDerm® RTM is used for connective tissue grafts where the gumline is receding due several factors including age, smoking, and other issues. Over time the gums can recede which may cause tooth sensitivity, root damage, and aesthetic issues.
